BELIEF GUIDES FAITH.
BELIEF GUIDES FAITH.
LEARN MORE ABOUT WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe in one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
We believe Jesus Christ alone is Savior and Lord. He is not one of many ways to God, nor simply a cultural expression of God, but the unique Son of God who makes God known to us and who alone can provide for our forgiveness and salvation. The assurance of these truths is given to us in the historical event of Christ’s sacrificial death and bodily resurrection.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Triune God. His work in our lives makes us aware of our need for God, calls us to humble repentance and so renews our hearts as to reproduce the likeness of Christ in us. He provides each person who becomes a child of God with gifts by which we can serve God, advance His Kingdom and strengthen His people.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and infallible Word of God, true in all that it intends to teach. The Bible, while given to us through human instrumentation and within human culture, is so overseen by God that what is given in it can finally be said to be an inspired, divine product and, therefore, fully trustworthy.
We believe the Church consists of all true believers in Christ. The Church finds its visible, yet imperfect, expression in local congregations where the Word is preached in its purity and the sacraments administered in their integrity; where scriptural discipline is practiced and loving fellowship is maintained.
We believe a person becomes a child of God by the grace of God through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. No one is excluded, no matter how great they believe their sin to be. Yet it is only to those who turn to Christ in genuine faith that forgiveness is promised.
We believe marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human race.
We believe Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to his faith in the final resurrection of the dead.
We believe in the visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ to the earth. At this time He will judge the living and the dead; history will be brought to a close; all who belong to Him will experience the fullness of God’s Kingdom, according to His eternal plan.
After living one life on earth, the unbelievers will be judged by God and sent to Hell where they will be eternally tormented with the Devil and the fallen angels.
WE WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU!
